About The Ranch
"The Osage Alpaca Ranch was born of the idea that alpacas prosper in the proper environment."
These are my alpacas and this is their ranch. Quite simply, alpacas succeed in a well-groomed environment with proper care and management. Originally located in Warsaw, Missouri at my Osage River Ranch; 930 acres of rolling Ozark Hills touching the Osage River. In 2002, I decided to focus strictly on alpacas. Taking into account many geographical factors, I acquired 20 acres of undeveloped land one mile north of the city limits of Columbia, Missouri.
Featuring herdsires from white to black. Dams of every color class. Peruvian,
Chilean & Bolivian bloodlines. Reasonable prices, exceptional value. Other
services include regional transportation, pasture renovation, handling & ranch
tours. Constantly improving facilities.
Avid supporters of MOPACA, the University of Missouri VMTH (vet school) and home of the Alpaca Alliance!
Begun in 2003, the Osage Alpaca Ranch became fully operational in 2006. This location is wonderful! The University of Missouri Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital is on call for farm visits, has much experience with camelids, is equipped with wonderful surgical facilities & is only 7 miles from the ranch. About a dozen other alpaca farms are within a 30 minute drive ~ no surprise as Columbia was the birth place of the MOPACA regional affiliate.
My alpaca's ranch is a few minutes north of the junction of Highway 70 & Highway 63. You'll drive right past the best shopping areas in Mid-Missouri on your way here, including the new Bass Pro superstore. Being a university town, Columbia is vibrant & the community extraordinarily active ~ a great place to raise alpacas. When you arrive, drive across the pond dam while spying the cria field. Once you reach the center drive, look around... you just made it to alpaca heaven! The house contains my office, living space & guest quarters. Adjacent to the house is the shop; adjacent to the shop is the main barn. Built to over look two hills of pastures, the barn is 7000 sq. ft. under roof. OA strives to be a low-impact, recycling, sustainable ranch.
